Conversations and rooms
Direct messages#
Start one with New conversation and someone’s @username or wallet address. Set your own photo, bio and @username under My profile in the side menu. If you haven’t talked before, your first messages arrive as a message request: you can send up to three until the other person accepts. They can accept, decline or block. You can turn off requests from people you haven’t talked to under Settings → Privacy.
Rooms#
A room is a group conversation with an owner. When you create one you choose:
| Setting | Options |
|---|---|
| Visibility | Discoverable (listed in Explore) or Private (invite only) |
| Holdings requirement | None, a minimum SOL balance, or a minimum balance of one token (details) |
| Retention | How many days messages and files are kept (the app shows the range your plan allows) |
Rooms are encrypted like direct messages. Each message is encrypted for every member’s devices, up to 256 devices per room.
Invitations#
Owners and admins create invitation links under Manage room → Invitations, with a limit on uses and an expiry. The code is in the part of the link after #, which browsers don’t send to servers. People joining by invitation still have to meet the room’s holdings requirement.
Roles#
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including changing the room policy. The owner is never locked out by a holdings requirement. |
| Admin | Manage members and invitations, and change the room’s settings. |
| Member | Read and send. |
Manage room also shows recent moderation activity.
Messages#
Open a message’s menu to reply, copy its text, delete it (your own messages), or report it (other people’s).
- Delete removes the stored copy for everyone. Copies people already saved, or screenshots, can’t be recalled.
- Messages and files expire after the conversation’s retention period. The conversation header shows it.
- Read receipts and typing indicators can be turned off under Settings → Privacy.
Mute, leave, block, report#
From the conversation menu:
- Mute stops notices for that conversation.
- Leave removes you. You stop receiving new messages at once.
- Block stops someone from messaging you. They aren’t told.
- Report sends the operator only the messages you tick, after showing you exactly what will be shared. The server can’t read conversations, so reports are the only way it sees content.
The official Veyragram group#
Every account is in the Veyragram group, pinned at the top. It carries announcements from staff and an optional welcome feed. It is public to all members and not end-to-end encrypted. You can mute it but not leave it.
New accounts are asked once whether to post a “joined” message. It shows only your display name or a shortened address, you can remove it any time, and it disappears after 30 days.
