Token-gated rooms

A room can require its members to hold a minimum amount of SOL or of one token. Veyragram checks your wallet’s balance on the Solana network when you join and keeps re-checking while you are a member.

What counts#

Requirement What is counted
SOL The SOL in your wallet account. Wrapped SOL doesn’t count.
A token The total of that token across all your token accounts for it. Frozen accounts don’t count.

Supported tokens are those made with Solana’s standard Token program. Token-2022 tokens, NFTs and collections, and .sol names can’t be used as requirements yet; the app refuses them when a room is created rather than guessing.

Amounts are compared exactly. The room shows its requirement before you join.

When checks happen#

  • When you join.
  • When you press Re-check holdings in the room.
  • Automatically, about every five minutes while you are a member.

If your balance drops below the requirement, you lose access at the next check and stop receiving new messages. Getting back above it and re-checking restores access. The room owner is never locked out.

“Could not be verified”#

Sometimes the network can’t be reached or doesn’t answer in time. Veyragram treats this as unknown, never as a zero balance:

  • If you are joining, the join waits; try Re-check holdings a little later.
  • If you are already a member, you keep access until a check succeeds.

Privacy#

Checking holdings ties your wallet address to the room for the server. Your balance itself isn’t stored, only whether you met the requirement and when it was checked. Everything on Solana is public anyway: anyone can look up a wallet’s holdings.
